How to take cow urine?

In traditional but to be on the safer time, for all practical purposes, it is better to drink distilled cow urine.
Since boiling is involved, cow urine distillate will be free from microbes.
There are many companies that sell distilled cow urine. But if you can get fresh urine, you can consider preparing the distillate by the following method:
Cow urine is taken in a pressure cooker. the opening at the top, where whistle is to be placed is attached with a heat resistant pipe. the other end of the pipe opens to a clean vessel kept dipped in water. the cow urine in the pressure cooker is heated and the cow urine distillate is collected in the vessel.
The pressure cooker catches the smell of cow urine, and hence can not be used for any other purpose.
The distilled cow urine can be used for 1 – 2 months, if preserved in an air tight container.

Cow urine dose

For a start, it is better to start with 3 -4 drops of cow urine one or two times a day.
After a week, the dose can be increased up to one spoon two times a day. While there is no fixed dose as such, I suppose, that is the maximum advisable dose of cow urine (or distillate).
If it is freshly available, then it can be taken as such, within 10 – 15 minutes of collecting it.

Cow urine – precautions

  • Cow urine may be infected, in case the cow is infected.
  • It is not advisable to store raw cow urine for more than an hour.
  • It is better to take the cow urine for the prescribed time period only.  For example, if  used for indigestion, cow urine should be take only till proper digestion power is restored.
  • It can be used for long time, like 3 -4 months in the treatment of obesity, chronic inflammatory conditions etc.
  • Cow urine has some benefits for people with diabetes, but it is better to consult Ayurvedic expert.

Can I drink milk and take cow urine at the same time?

There are many instances in which cow urine and milk are used together. –
For example, Panchagavya – cow ghee, sour curd, urine, cow dung water and cow milk. This combination itself is used as medicine and also as ingredient in other medicines such as Panchagavya Ghrita.
So, cow urine can be consumed along with milk. One teaspoon of cow urine along with quarter or half a cup of milk is fine to have.
Cow urine is hot, pungent, strong, piercing in nature, so, its excess hotness and other related qualities are reduced in strength due to the sweetness and cold potency of milk.

It should not be continued for more than 4 months, according to me.

Chemo-therapeutic potential: Various studies have found good antimicrobial activity of cow’s urine (CU) comparable with standard drugs such as ofloxacin, cefpodoxime, and gentamycin, against a vast number of pathogenic bacteria, more so against Gram-positive than negative bacteria. Interestingly antimicrobial activity has also been found against some resistant strains such as multidrug-resistant (MDR) Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae.

Since the gou mutra is processed to remove all toxins, the only smell is of a cow shed or a cow. There is absolutely no smell of urine or uric acid. I started on this treatment 2 weeks ago and my energy level has doubled despite very severe asthma.

Besides, the prescribed amount is just 10ml of cow urine with 10 ml of water. So there is no after tatse or any such issue.

I understand that all the health benefits you have mentioned in this article are derived from urine of an Indian cow. If that’s true, why not show a desi cow in picture instead of some western breed? 🙂

    Hello sir,

I forgot to mention that my weight is 60 kg and height is 5’8″ as per which the ideal weight should be 65-70kg. I guess consuming 5ml distilled cow urine daily will not make me losing more weight as I read here that it helps in losing weight.

    Please advise.

Sir, In the very beginning of the article you have shown a picture of holstein. Its very misleading. Only humped cow urine has medicinal properties. holstein is an animal from another species BOS TAURUS and has totally different properties than our desi cow. I wonder how you couldnt find an appropriate picture of an Indian cow which belongs to BOS INDICUS. Please change the pic, or else people might end up drinking wrong cow urine.

Hi, for Indians, Indian cow urine is good and for westerners, their breed’s cow urine is good. It is not true that only a particular breed of cow urine has medicinal properties and others do not.

I do not recommend it without consulting an Ayurveda doctor directly.

Hi, the mixture looks fine to take. But I would recommend using GOdhan ark (cow urine distillate) in place of fresh cow urine. I would recommend start with only 5 drops per day of cow urine.

The dose is too high. Please dilute 5 ml of cow urine with 10 ml water and consume only once a day for 1 month.

If the cow is healthy and urine is not contaminated, it can be administered as such. But to be on the safer side, arka – distilled cow urine is lot safer and devoid of any microbes.
