Occasional Back Pain – When To Go For Ayurvedic Treatment

Occasional back pain is experienced by all of us at one or the other point of time. Whether to seek any treatment or not for a back pain often creates confusion. Here are tips to know when to consult an Ayurvedic doctor.

Back structure: Back is a complex structure composed of
– bones,
– muscles,
– ligaments (thread like attachments connecting bones),
– tendons (connections of the muscles to the bones) and
– discs (pad-like cushions between the bones of the spine).
Back pain can arise from problems with any of these components.

Occasional back pain occurring only on straining, is often due to the muscles of your back becoming tight (muscular spasm). Strain in the form of travel, continuous standing or sitting, wrong posture or even psychological stress could be cause the muscles of your back to go into a spasm, producing pain.

Back muscle spasms symptoms: In most cases, the pain gets relieved spontaneously with rest. More often than not, your back pain is relieved automatically upon resting. Nevertheless, it might be an indication that your back is weakening and that you need to strengthen it.

Test for low back pain: As a first step, to determine whether you need medical help, try this simple test.

While lying on a firm bed or mattress, straighten one leg and raise it to 90 degrees. If you have pain radiating down your leg, seek medical help. Ayurvedic treatment for back pain along with medicines would be necessary.

If there is no radiating pain, the most probable cause for your back pain is muscle strain. To relieve this, you may adopt back pain relief tips.
