Quick wound healing is one of the widely discussed topic in Ayurveda, especially by Master Sushruta because in ancient times, wounds were common in arrow and sword injuries in wars. Gone are the days of arrows and swords usage in war but Ayurvedic home remedies for wound healing are still prevalent and effective.
What is wound healing?
Wound healing is a natural process of stopping bleeding and repair, when there is a discontinuation of skin and the underneath tissues.
Wound healing in a healthy person is a natural process, hence does not really require any special treatment.
But a little help is desirable to
- keep the infectious agents like bacteria at bay
- Relieve wound pain
- Relieve wound itching
- Help patient for faster recovery
- Neem powder / neem leaves – 10 grams
- Vacha (Acorus root) – 10 grams
- Heeng – Asa foetida – 10 grams
- Ghee – 10 grams / 10 ml
- Mustard – 10 grams
- Salt – 10 grams
Take the above ingredients and grind it together well, make a wick. With the help of ghee and asa foetida, it can be easily rolled into form of wick.
Burn this wick and expose the wound region to its fumes for 5 minutes, 2 times a day.

Helps in quick wound healing, by keeping infection at bay, relieves dryness, wound pain and wound itching.
